Anatomy and Physiology
Anatomy and Physiology is an event that tests students' knowledge about the anatomy and physiology of the human body. The three systems we will be covering this year are the Respiratory system, Digestive system, and Immune system. Let's have a great season!
Event Leader: TBD
Event Leader: TBD
Cell Biology
Cell Biology is an event about eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. It covers a wide variety of topics such as organelle structure and function, cell cycle, and other miscellaneous topics such as enzymes and chromosome structure. You will also learn about other topics such as bioenergetics, homeostasis, and biological polymers.

Event Leader: TBD
Disease Detectives
In Disease Detectives, teams of two work together on a 50-minute long written test to answer various questions about public health, epidemiological investigations, disease transmission, and more. We also learn to apply biostatistics to public health situations!
Event Leader: TBD
Event Leader: TBD
Forestry
Forestry tests your ability to identify trees and answer general questions about them. You also learn about habitats, adaptions to the environment, biomes, succession, and relationships with animals or other plants.
Event Leader: TBD
Event Leader: TBD
Green Generation
Green Generation is about general ecological principles, the history and consequences of human impact on our environment, solutions to reversing trees, and sustainability concepts. This year will focus on terrestrial issues and population growth.

Earth & Space Science
Astronomy
Astronomy is an event that tests competitors' knowledge of various cosmological phenomena and their implications. This year's main focus has yet to be determined. Competitors will answer various types of question relating to these topics and numerous others. Like most other study events, competitors are in teams of 2 to work on a 50-minute written exam. Oh, and you get laptops as reference materials... #hardcore.

Event Leader: TBD
Dynamic Planet
This year, Dynamic Planet focuses on Earth's fresh water. This includes topics like lakes, reservoirs, and rivers.
Event Leader: TBD
Event Leader: TBD
Rocks & Minerals
Rocks & Minerals is a study event where teams use their knowledge of rocks and minerals to identify pictures and answer general information about them.
Event Leader: TBD
Event Leader: TBD
Remote Sensing
In Remote Sensing, teams use remote sensing images such as photographic and spectroscopic information, to analyze data and/or make
climate models.
Event Leader: TBD
climate models.

Physics & Chemistry
It's About Time
It's About Time is split into two portions. The first covers general topics about the physics and history of time. In the second portion, students use a pre-build time time-keeping device to measure time intervals between 10 and 300 seconds.
Event Leader: TBD
Event Leader: TBD
Trajectory
Trajectory is a build-event where participants must make a device that is able to launch a tennis ball, racket ball, ping pong ball, or tacky sack, powered by a non-metallic elastic solid. The device must fit within specific constraints and imagination is key!
Event Leader: TBD
Event Leader: TBD
WiFi Lab
In WiFi Lab, students are asked to build an antenna that transmits a signal at 2.4 GHz and complete a written test about electromagnetic waves. You provide graphs and tables showing the relationship between received power and since for different configurations of the antenna as well as labeled design logs that detail the materials and parts used to construct the antenna.
Event Leader: TBD
Event Leader: TBD
Chemistry Lab
Chemistry Lab is a chemistry-oriented event that rotates between different advanced high school chemistry topics each year, with a test event and relevant lab event based on those topics. This year, the focus is on RedOx Reactions and Periodicity. Knowledge required in this event is very similar to what you’ll learn in AP Chemistry, so if you’re taking that course or have already taken it you’ll likely be familiar with most of the content in Chemistry Lab, and if not, this event will make AP Chemistry much easier.

Event Leader: TBD
Environmental Chemistry
In Environmental Chemistry, participants are tested on their knowledge of chemistry in the environment, including chemical reactions, characterization, and quantification of freshwater.
Event Leader: TBD
Event Leader: TBD
Forensics
Given a scenario and possible suspects, students in Forensics will perform a series of tests and analyze given evidence to solve a crime. This will involve identification of powders, polymers, fibers, and hair samples, blood serum and fingerprint analysis, and interpretation of chromatography.
Event Leader: TBD

Technology & Engineering Design
Bridge
In Bridge, teams work together to build a bridge that is lightweight and capable of holding a designated weight for maximum efficiency. You design the bridge under specific parameters, and characterize the requirements in a Design Log that you must submit.
Event Leader: TBD
Event Leader: TBD
Detector Building
Detector Building has both a device and exam component. You will pre-build a device that can accurately measure concentration across a given range in parts per million, while also displaying a related LED color. The written test covers topics including ppm/conductivity/voltage/resistance relationships, theory and operation of electrical components, general aqueous chemistry, and determining real world relationships from raw data.

Event Leader: TBD
Wright Stuff
Wright Stuff is an event where you make, test, and fly an airplane powered by a twisted rubber band. The goal is to achieve the longest flight duration while conforming to specific design restraints.

Inquiry & Nature of Science
Codebusters
In Codebusters, teams of three work together to crack ciphers (encoded messages) ranging from easy to hard. This event depends on teamwork and speed, and a four function calculator.
Event Leader: TBD
Event Leader: TBD
Experimental Design
Experimental Design is a lab event where participants are given 50 minutes to use a set of given materials and provided scientific topic to design, execute, and report the findings of a scientific experiment in a write-up. It's essentially creating your own science experiments, which makes it applicable to a wide range of fields!
Event Leader: TBD
Event Leader: TBD
Fermi Questions
In Fermi Questions, students will provide rough estimates to a fast-paced series of "Fermi Questions": science-related questions that are seemingly impossible to calculate, and are either difficult or impossible to measure directly. An example of one would be: "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop?"
Event Leader: TBD
Event Leader: TBD
Scrambler
Scrambler is an event where you will build a device that transports an egg a certain distance to be as closer to a final barrier as possible, without hitting the barrier.

Write It, Do It
Write it Do It comprises of two students in a team: one is the writer and the other is the builder. The writer has around 20 minutes to look at a structure and write a thorogh description on how to build it using the materials provided. The builder then has around 20 minutes to create the structure based on the writer’s writing. They will be in separate rooms and should not talk to each other during the event. It’s fun to participate in and improves your observation and reading skills.
